Gibson Custom Shop is trying to match the benchmark set by Les Paul Standard that still is considered among the top notch seen in the industry. Well, the success of the latter has now to witness the charisma of the Jimmy Page “Number Two” Les Paul. And this one is targeted at all those who do nothing short of swooning on the impact of high-quality electric music. This instrument has a very hot and cool faded, weathered look like the rest of the Les Paul creations, but with a gorgeous sunburst finish and a red element fading to a dusky amber-brown that will appeal to one and all.
The razzmatazz has a clear serial number dating it back to 1959. There are only 325 up for sale with two levels of aging. The first 25 instruments come aged by vintage-reproduction master Tom Murphy. After that they all were inspected, played, hand signed and numbered by Jimmy Page himself.
There is a lot of additional 100 guitars that will go through extensive aging treatment while the remaining 200 will witness a finishing to Gibson’s VOS specs. A great choice for musicians and collectors alike.
