Actors Gwyneth Paltrow and her husband Chris Martin are buying one of the most luxurious mansion in Los Angeles. In fact the mansion has been featured on magazine covers depicting luxury real estate. The mansion was built by renowned architect Windsor Smith and that could be the reason why it is called ‘The Hose of Windsor’. It is a large house with six bedrooms and eight bathrooms. The construction of the mansion was completed in 2011 and was put on the market for an asking price of $11.96 million. The real estate market conditions weren’t strong enough to sustain that price and so it was scaled down to $10.45 million later. According to reports carried by TMZ the actor couple paid closed to the revised asking price. It is likely that the final price was rounded off to $10 million for the mansion which has now become a celebrity estate.
The House of Windsor Designed by Windsor Smith
The House of Windsor graced the cover of the October issue of the Veranda magazine. It is an unusual house in many ways and could be called a designer house as different spaces and rooms have been designed by different designers. It has brought different styles and flavors to the house. Martyn Lawrence Bullard, Stephen Block, Kathryn M. Ireland, Peter Dunham, Candace Barnes and more have contributed creatively in designing the house. The foyer has been designed by Windsor Smith himself. The only thing consistent with the house is that all the walls are done in White Dove paint. As you move to the living room you are in a space that has been designed by Richard Shapiro. The floors are simply gorgeous and you feel like standing around to admire the room.
The Living Room and the Kitchen
Windsor Smith has created her design based on the Galveston Grey theme and the same has been extended to the living room. It has a very homely feeling primarily because of the pulsation modular section all along the wall. The fireplace has a rustic design that adds a traditional touch to the room. The kitchen has also been designed by Windsor Smith. It is rather impressive the way the 30 inch refrigerator has been blended with the Galveston Grey painted cabinets. A beverage centre has been created next to the apron sink to keep your alcoholic drinks chilled. A coffee machine has been built into the wet bar. There is a wine column with two temperature zones. However the center of attraction is the Grand Palais 180 range stove.
Interiors of  Gwyneth Paltrow LA House
The formal dining room has a formal design but a romantic element has been added by installing an umbrian lantern. The guest suite has been designed by Peter Dunham who has used Egyptian cotton sheets for the bed. The screening/game room done up by Martyn Lawrence Bullard is wacky to say the least. It is situated in an alcove of its own and features an ensuite bathroom. The interiors of one of the bedrooms have been done by Tara Shaw. The bed is built with iron but the Venetian canopy makes it really elegant. The dressing area of the master bathroom has been designed by Candace Barnes. The tub in the bathroom is a Georgian era exposed floor-mounted tub. The linen in the master bedroom is by SEFERRA and the flooring has been crafted out of antique oak. The exterior of the house has been done by Stephen Block and Paul Robbins. The unique feature of the mansion is the stable built adjacent to the main home and designed by Kathryn M. Ireland.
