Gwyneth Paltrow, the Oscar winning star of Shakespeare in Love is not content being just an actress and is taking interest in several other activities. She had recently released her cookbook called Notes From My Kitchen Table. She has now collaborated with high end online retailer Net-A-Porter to recommend her essential spring wardrobe. She is doing it through her blog, GOOP. Some people believe that she wants to follow the Martha Stewart route to an alternative career. Though, it is difficult to say if she could connect to the masses through her fashion tips.
Apparently, Miss Paltrow is not aware of the budgets an average American can afford. If you purchase all the designer brands according to her recommendations for the six new looks for the summer, you will have to shell out a total of $18,301. How many women have disposable incomes like that? The 38 year old actress has recommended what she considers wardrobe basics. Some of the suggested apparels include a Stella McCartney Jersey tank Dress ($785), a Chloe Silk-drape Jacket ($1840) and an Isabel Marant printed silk dress ($1380).
Gwyneth has modeled herself for projecting some of the looks. The first look combined the Stella McCartney tank dress with $750 Marni sandals, with the Chloe silk blazer and a $1295 Chloe Bow clutch. A second look incorporates a Stella McCartney denim skirt ($515) with a simple grey T-shirt, an Isabel Marant blazer and Alaia shoes ($1775). No doubt, Gwyneth understands fashion well and can establish herself in an alternative career. For the time being she claims to love her life away from the spotlight. She is living in her North London home. She loves cooking as it makes her feel calm and happy. She cooks dinner for her husband Chris Martin of Coldplay, and their two children, Apple, six, and five-year-old Moses.
