Coca Cola’s strategy of collaborating with designers to create new bottles or special bottles for special offers or limited editions, especially for Diet Coke has given rise to a race amongst established designers to be on the panel of designers for the company. Gianfranco Ferré is the latest to join this race and have become part of the stable of designers collaborating with Coca Cola.
Tommaso Aquilano and Roberto Rimondi, Creative Directors of Gianfranco Ferré drew inspiration from four of the house’s signatures. They have created four designs of bottles, each one highlighting one of the house’s signature. A rich croc texture, an Obi belt, a white silk shirt, and the brand’s identifying symbol: the Signature Pin – all of which celebrate the famous Contour bottle. And at the same time give the bottle a new look and life which is very different and refreshing at the same time.
For Gianfranco Ferre also it is a prestigious project and they hope to gain from it. It will give them access to the wide base of consumers of Coca Cola who will see their work through the bottles they have designed and might get interested in seeing their other work. It is a win win situation for both Coca Cola and Gianfranco Ferre.
