Hilton Worldwide is intent on expanding the presence of its global luxury brand in the US. Conrad Hotels & Resorts, its luxury brand will be opening its doors for guests in New York’s Financial District in the fourth quarter of 2011. The New York hotel will be the fifth Conrad property in US. They are operating luxury hotels under the brand in Miami, Chicago, Indianapolis and San Juan. The new property will be their first in New York City. They have chosen the location very carefully as the hotel is situated in the heart of the financial district of the city.
The official address of the new hotel is 102, North End Avenue and it is the current site of the Embassy Suites New York. Being in the heart of the financial district the hotel is close several historic landmarks and popular attractions, such as the New York Stock Exchange, City Hall, Trinity Church, South Street Seaport, Battery Park, and the trendy neighborhoods of Tribeca, SoHo and Greenwich Village. The luxury hotel will have a total of 463 rooms for guests and boast of stunning views as it is situated near the Hudson River to the west and the new Freedom Tower to the east.
The new Conrad in New York boasts of a lobby which is a sunlit 15 story atrium which features a Sol Le Witt art piece rising 13 floors above the check-in desk. No room in the Conrad New York will be smaller than 550 square feet. All the rooms will have the latest technological amenities. The dining and beverage outlets will also be consistent with the luxurious ambiance of the hotel. The interiors of the hotel is being designed and styled by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, Office dA and Remedios Studios. The Grand Ballroom is designed and equipped as the ideal venue for conferences and social gatherings and can accommodate 600 guests and participants in its 6,000 square feet area.
