Gilles Marini, the French actor has a lovely new restaurant called La Vida in Hollywood at the corner of Sunset and Gower. It recently hosted an Effen by Design vodka event. The event a diverse and odd mix of things, which included vodka and prosecco, the Effen vodka brand that gets its publicity through cheeky use of words. Their latest ads carry suggestive taglines like “the best nights start with a little Effen”.
The brand has also collaborated with designers such as Vanessa De Vargas, the brain behind the Turquoise interior design firm. She is a blogger, designer, who also works with the charity organisation Upward Bound, which gives a second chance to the homeless.
Mixologist Nina A. Guinard came up with two delectable concoctions, the 6th and Main. I’ll even tell you the recipe incase this has managed to arouse your interest. Take 1.5 ounces of Effen Black Cherry Vodka, pour in 1.5 ounces of Prosecco, then 0.75 ounces of St. Germain Elderflower liqueur. Pour Effen Black Cherry vodka and St. Germain over ice, shake well and then add equal amount of Prosecco. Put the concoction in a champagne glass and top that with a fresh strawberry. Voila your drink is ready!
