One of the most revered and highly cherished luxury sports cars manufacturer, Ferrari, dazzled the world in the year 1962 with the introduction of the immensely powerful and drop dead gorgeous Ferrari 250 GTO. A magnificent sports car that epitomized Ferrari’s continuing commitment towards exquisite designs and unparalleled automotive engineering. Now, Richard Pietruska a designer with the reputed Automotive Fine Arts Society has paid tribute the Ferrari 250 GTO in his own unique way by creating a beautiful sculpture of the iconic vehicle. The all new Ferrari GTO sculpture, designated Ferrari GTO Series II – FаntаѕtÑ–Ñ Voyage has now been selected to be showcased during the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. This exhibition of the 250 GTO sculpture will take place from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm on August 21st, 2011 and will become the highlight of the Pebble Beach AFAS event.
The Ferrari 250 GTO sculpture has been crafted from fiberglass and stainless steel, while the entire structure to a frame of stainless steel bars that represent the sound waves generated during the ignition of the car’s phenomenal V12 engine. Mr. Pietruska has been serving in the capacity of an instructor at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena for over 20 years and has been credited with numerous auto sculptures, where in the chosen elements were bronze casting, cast resin, fiberglass, stainless steel and plastics. The Ferrari 250 GTO witnessed its share of glory from 1962 to 1964, during which Ferrari only manufactured 39 GTOs, while this magnificent vehicle was powered by a 3.0 liter V12 engine, along with a 5 speed manual transmission.
