Cornwall Terrace is now the most expensive row of terraced houses designed by Royal architect Sir John Nash as part of the Prince Regent’s (and later King George IV) plans for the 19th century Regent’s Park. It was developed by English Heritage and The Crown Estate and by a company named Oakmayne.
Blackwood House is the most expensive terraced house sold in Britain for £35 million with a huge stamp duty bill of £1.4 million. Blackwood House is a part of Cornwall Terrace. The Cornwall Terrace now boasts of lavish royalties and stunning views that form a part of the package that includes huge bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, gym, health spa, and an armour-plated â€Bentley-sized†garage.
Blackwood House’s price is 100 times more than the price of an average house in London and it is London’s second most expensive new building after Toprak Mansion in Hampstead that was sold for £50 million in 2008. Oakmayne has refused to divulge the name of the buyer who is supposed to be a Middle Eastern royal family, and they will apparently be spending another £1.5 to £2 million to furnish and decorate the place as well.
