Women’s bags by the famous French Fashion house, Louis Vuitton have always been the centre of attention. The unusual thing this time is that the famous fashion house is paying more attention to the men’s market and have unveiled a stunning selection of men’s bags for spring and summer 2011. The occasion was its men’s fashion presentation in Paris the other day. The bags definitely evoked the image of a debonair traveller and come as a boon for stylish gents everywhere.
The variety of design displayed had an appealing classicism and an understated elegance. It was apparent that LV had put in a lot of time, effort and expense to come up with a stunning collection of men’s bags. Grey, brown and green in subdued shades have been used predominantly. Different fabric treatments have been put together for effect. Unique shapes of some of the bags add to the appeal of the collection. The Vuitton logo and the monogram pattern has been used effectively to give the bags a distinct look.
Scott Campbell, the tattoo artist, is the latest collaborator of Vuitton. He has come up with the Damier pattern rendered in black and grey, a leather keep all featuring a chinoiserie design. There was a faded version of the bag in washed denim fabric with leather straps and detailing. The best looking piece was an over sized tote bag in washed canvas featuring an enlarged archival Vuitton logo, green leather straps and handles.
