Claridge’s Hotel in London is a part of Matbourne Hotel Group. It has built a reputation of an elite luxury hotel that plays host to Royalty, old money and the simply rich. It is obviously providing luxury accommodation for 2012 London Olympics but at the same time it is celebrating the London Olympics by creating an unusual experience for guests. It is organizing A Taste of Noma, during the Olympics in collaboration with the famous Copenhagen restaurant Noma. It will be a once in a lifetime experience for the visitors to the hotel to enjoy Noma’s outstanding signature flavors and dishes. It will be an exciting time in London during the Olympics and this will add to the excitement. “A Taste of Noma at Claridge’s†will see head chef René Redzepi creating a five-course menu at Claridge’s for 10 days during the Olympics. Noma has never taken its cuisine overseas and this first initiative is sure to create a buzz in London.
René Redzepi the head chef will recreate his signature dishes and flavors but with local seasonal British ingredients. The details of the menu, however has not been declared by the hotel. The venue of this initiative will be the ballroom at the hotel. Lunch and dinner will be served to guests who book their place in advance during July 28 – August 6. Tickets will become available on May 9 and have been priced at $314 per person. You can pre register now on their website to ensure that you receive a mail with a link to purchase tickets. The hotel management confirmed that they have already received over 5,000 enquiries. Clardge’s is publicizing the event amongst past guests and loyalists through mail and social media. The hotel has a strong presence on social media and is leveraging that to circulate behind the stage photos. They have also launched an international print campaign to publicize the event. The initiative by Claridge’s is aimed at a more sophisticated international clientele. A world renowned chef paired with the most exciting sporting event can be very exciting for the loyalists of the hotel.

The market is getting cluttered and hotels need to design exclusive events and experiences to draw attention and attract more traffic. A Taste of Noma at Claridge’s is just that and the management believes that the experience will not only resonate with their guests but leave an indelible memory. Similar initiatives are being taken by some other hotels and restaurants as well. The Dorchester Collection’s 45 Park Lane hotel in London is hosting an event with restaurant owner Wolfgang Puck. Starwood Hotels & Resorts’ St. Regis Aspen Resort has drawn up an elaborate menu for bi-annual events in partnership with American Express Publishing’s Food & Wine. Olympics is the biggest event in London in recent history and it is expected to help the stagnant British economy. Claridge’s is highlighting it British heritage to connect with the London Olympics. The hotel hopes to celebrate the sporting event with its guests in its own way.
