Christie’s are Organizing two Auctions of Clothing of Celebrity from Pop Culture

Pop and Rock musicians have mass following. They become cult figures with hard core fans. Anything or item associated with them becomes valuable for the fans. Christie’s are organizing an auction with a collection of sensational items of celebrity clothing. In fact there will be two auctions with items associated with celebrities from two different fields. On November 15 the auction house will hold a sale of Pop Culture: Rock and Pop Memorabilia. It will feature clothing and collectibles of some iconic stars from the music industry and some of the items are easily recognizable.

The highlights of the Rock and Pop Memorabilia collection would be the black suit worn by the Sex Pistols’ Sid Vicious from 1978. It would be of great value for a fan and is estimated to fetch something in between $15,990 and $23,985. A velvet jacket cut in a wild design and worn by T. Rex’s Marc Bolan between 1975 and 1977 is estimated to fetch around $11,000. A black vest belonging to Johnny Cash has been slotted in the $4,000 bracket. Michael Jackson’s trademark fedoras from 1984 are also estimated at $2,399 – $3,198.

The second auction will also be organized in London. Scheduled to be held on November 23 it is associated with the film industry and called Pop Culture: Film & Entertainment Memorabilia sale. The highest estimates are for Harry Houdini’s canvas straitjacket, estimated to receive a successful bid between $23,985 and $31,980. The other highlights of the collection include Al Pacino’s jacket from 1972’s The Godfather: Part II, James Dean’s wool trousers from 1955’s Rebel Without A Cause and Marilyn Monroe’s gloves and scarf.
