Last heard, Karl Lagerfeld was trying to sell his upscale 50 Gramercy Park apartment. Now, the man behind Chanel is jumping on to the pop-up shop bandwagon. Lagerfeld’s Chanel will be collaborating with fellow luxury brand Colette for a pop-up store in Paris.
The pop-up shop, which is supposed to come up at 336-340 Rue Saint-Honoré in Paris, is set to have a rock ‘n’ roll theme. Incidentally, the chosen venue is a former garage. Moreover, with two landmark luxury brands like Chanel and Colette teaming up, you had better watch out for this one. Fashion aficionados will agree that this is a dream come true.
As of now, it seems like there will be plenty of demos and displays for fashion fans to catch up on. A different act will be featured on each day. Among the acts on offer are a Chanel nail bar, cupcakes by Chez Bogato and an on-site graffiti artist customising bags. If you like music, watch out for Micheal Gaubert’s high-fashion soundtrack. Gaubert has worked on the runway playlists for the biggest fashion brands.
The Chanel and Colette pop-up store will open its doors on 1 March and carry on until 10 March. Among the goodies on offer are the graffiti-covered Chanel bags, helmets, Karl Lagerfeld dolls as well as compilation CDs from Colette.
This one is certainly not as exorbitant as the Fabergé pop-up boutique in Palace Hotel in Gstaad, Switzerland. But it is certainly as, if not more, exciting. If fashion is your passion, you cannot afford to give the Chanel-Colette pop-up shop a miss.
