CES 2010: Asus Brings In LCD Embedded Wireless EeeKeyboard

This time around the Consumer Electronics Show 2010 (CES) will be stormed by some of the most unusual and awe inspiring computer technology we have ever seen. From next generation laptops and desktops to state of the art webcams, keyboards and other computer accessories. Just a while back, we wrote about the new stylish Asus NX90 and the computer manufacturing giant is again bringing something extraordinary to the CES 2010.

AsusTek Computers has announced the launch of an all new LCD embedded wireless keyboard, that doubles as a netbook called, the EeeKeyboard. This new device from Asus features Qwerty keyboard, that is attached to a 5 inch multi-touch LCD display, thus allowing the users to treat the keyboard as a virtual netbook as well. The EeeKeyboard has been designed and developed on the Eee WiCast wireless HDMI technology, that is quite similar to much debated wireless display technology.

The EeeKeyboard is powered by an Intel Atom N270 (1.6 GHz) processor with a 1GB DDR2 RAM and comes with Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition. As far as the storage is concernced, the all new wireless keyboard has been given a 16GB Solid State Drive (SSD), that can be later upgraded to 32GB SSD. The multi-touch display on the side of the keyboard, is dual purpose as the screen can be used to launch applications and widgets and it also serves as state of the art mouse. The Eeekeyboard wireless keyboard can be attached to a computer monitor or television via cables or wirelessly to depict the display from the secondary in built screen to the actual big ones.

The Asus EeeKeyboard wireless keyboard will be available to the consumers from February 2010 for $499 and $599 respectively.
