Catriel measures 26 meters in length and has been listed on JamesList for €2,450,000. The boat has a pedigree that would surprise anybody. She was built originally in 1962 for an Argentine oil company. The purpose for which the boat was built was definitely not leisure or luxury but was mainly used as a deep sea tug boat. After changing hands, till 1999, it was operational as a cargo boat on the Rio Parana till the Argentine economy melted in the first years of the new century.
It was only after a few years that her current owner found her, drawn by her classical shape. He could visualize the possibility of turning it into a luxury yacht and bought it. Catriel took thousands of man hours to get ready for her maiden voyage in her new avatar as a luxury yacht. She sailed on the Parana and then took 35 days to cross the Atlantic and dock in Genoa and attracting attention immediately with her elegant classical looks. Her interiors have been done very luxuriously and yet give it a very homely feel.
