Guess what? The latest member on Facebook is no common man. The British monarch has just joined Facebook! Yes, the Queen is now on Facebook.
The official British monarchy page was launched on Monday, November 08, 2010 at 8 in the morning and it garnered more than 40,000 likes from Facebook members within an hour of being launched. Now that is what you call popularity, isn’t it? This page on the most popular networking website allows you to connect with the British royal family. You can check out photographs and videos of the royal family and use the ‘near me’ application on Facebook to find information on royal ceremonies, visits and engagements near to your home.
Don’t think you can go poke the queen though. This page is corporate and not a personal account so you can’t add the queen as a friend to show off on your friend list.
