BMW Supports Guggenheim Foundation in Exploring Urban Life

BMW AG and Solomon R Guggenheim Foundation and Museum have come together for an interesting collaboration that promises unlimited possibilities. Richard Armstrong, Director of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation and Museum, and Frank-Peter Arndt, Member of the Board of Management, BMW AG announced a 6-year collaborative effort that will span the globe in an exploration of urban life.  This is a research-and-development project with almost limitless potential.

This is an open ended project where the outcome is not predictable. But one thing is certain that it may change every city and community it touches, and point the way toward new possibilities for the urban environment worldwide. It is not unusual for BMW to engage in such adventurous projects. Over the last forty years their sustainable commitment in the cultural sector and their social responsibility has been evident. Even now they seem to be excited about joining this new global platform.

The first project to be undertaken under the new collaboration has already been identified. The first installation in the BMW Guggenheim Lab will be Confronting Comfort: The City and You, exploring the relationship between urban dwelling and the environment. Beginning in North America and moving on to Europe and Asia.
