BMW M partners with K2 to roll out class-apart skis

With the winter time fast filling in, it’s time that you step outside the comfort of your heated houses and indulge in some winter sports. If you don’t settle for anything that comes without a superlative tag, be it design or functionality, the BMW M K2 series of skis will surely impress you. The automotive giant here has joined hands with K2 to unveil Design edition skis which take the benefit of a traditional camber and combine it with class-apart design. These were inspired by BMW’s M class model and feature the K2 BASELINE technology from the new K2 Collection.

However, as they say, money can’t buy everything. This holds true in the case of these skis for you just can’t buy them off the shelves. You got to actually wind them. These skis will be given away as prizes in this year’s BMW xDrive Cup. As a part of this concept, winter sports fanatics collect “Badges” at 13 venues in Germany, Austria, Italy and Switzerland. To participate, you got to compete against other skiers snowboarders on a marked-out giant slalom. You also have to post your SkiMovies online in 10 of 13 destinations.

You could earn Badges by either buying a ski pass from one of the BMW xDrive Partner ski areas or by skiing down selected routes at the BMW xDrive Cup destinations. For every 5,00 metres of altitude you cover, you can get a Performance Badge and you can also earn the Webtour Badge by visiting their website.
