Betfair, the online betting exchange which is closely associated with horseracing, wanted to do something special for the centenary celebrations of Cheltenham. And one has to admit that they have done it in style. They commissioned designers to create exclusive knee length and ankle length zip up hoof shoes. In their opinion it is the perfect accessory for attending a horseracing event and it helps you stand out from the crowd.
Andy Lulham of Betfair explained that the horseshoe or the hoof boots, whatever you want to call them, has been launched to coincide with the 100th anniversary celebrations of Cheltenham Festival and the proceeds from the high priced shoes will go to a charity. The unusual looking boots have been produced in a limited edition and have been priced at a steep £1,300 per pair.
Cheltenham is one of the most prestigious events in the horse racing calendar. The demographic of majority of the people attending the event is such that might not find the price of the boots startling particularly when the proceeds are meant to benefit a charity. Louise Dainton, who modelled for the shoe was surprised by how comfortable the shoes were. She said that  with the shoes on you feel confident enough to join the horses on the track and start galloping.
