10 Best Hotels in the World from Expedia

The online travel brand giant, Expedia, has ranked the ten best hotels in the world. While conducting this survey Expedia not only focussed on how fancy the hotel was and if it was luxurious enough to woo its many elite guests but looked at several important aspects that are crucial to the hospitality industry. The survey also focussed on green and sustainable hotels which occupy a satisfactory 17% on the list and family hotels which make for 13% around the world. It was obviously the world class hotels which occupied a substantial number on the list of best hotels along with the so called resort hotels with beaches and hotels that offer facilities such as skiing also made an appearance on the list.

Expedia also broke down there survey in the form of some stats and the numbers state that there are about 28% hotels in United States which is followed by Europe which has 25%. Asia occupied the number three spot with 19% and South America featured at number four with only 3% world class hotels. The survey was conducted around 295 cities in 74 countries. The list also offers some exciting prices for the weekend. However, check the hotel websites for the rates and packages.

It was, however, surprising to note that the world’ best hotel was not in the United States or in Western Europe but in the Eastern European city of Bratislava in Slovakia.
