BAC Mono single-seater race car has been made available for the weekend track enthusiasts in America. The exciting and exclusive sports car is amongst the best the British car makers have to offer. It is a hobby for the very rich and only those with substantially deep pockets can afford them. The British car maker has entered into an agreement with Sector111 LLC and named them the exclusive importer of the British Model for the American market. Sector111 LLC is a company based in California and has become a specialist for providing after sales service for the Lotus Elise, Exige and the Ariel Atom.
Sector111 has the infrastructure, the skilled manpower and the genuine parts to service the exclusive high performance cars. Neill Briggs, Director of BAC was very upbeat about the new arrangement. America is a very important market for them. A bulk of their exports is directed to the American market. Mr. Briggs was very happy to announce the new partnership. He was confident that with Sector111 distributing the Mono, its availability will become easier for the American consumers.
Sector111 has its plans in place for the BAC Mono. They plan to import 12 cars in the year 2012 and have priced the car at $130,000 each. The Mono is a powerful car which is powered by a mid mounted naturally aspirated 2.3 liter Cosworth engine that is capable of pushing out 280 horsepower to the rear wheels. The car boasts of a six speed sequential transmission and a limited slip differential. Because of the carbon fiber body of the car its total weight is only 540 kg. The car has a remarkable pickup and can reach 100 mph in just 6.7 seconds. It is capable of a top speed of 170 mph.
