Abbey Road Studios and Fairmont Hotel Come together to Offer a Lodging and Music Experience

Abbey Road Studios became really famous after the Beatles first recorded their album Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band there. The studio was later used by Pink Floyd to record Wish You Were Here and Radiohead created The Bends in the same studio. It is now pitching itself as a destination in partnership with the luxury hotel chain Fairmont. The chain operates 18 luxury properties around the world including the Plaza Hotel in New York. The unique package is being positioned as a ‘once in a lifetime’ lodging and music experience.

A statement about the package was released on the 16th of January. The guests opting for the package will have behind the scene access to the iconic studio. They might even get a chance to actually use the studio and record their own songs. The studio has undergone a makeover for the occasion. A design team from London’s famed Savoy hotel has been commissioned to spruce up the lounges in the studio. The designers have done a good job and added their own signature style. It is now ready to receive guests who may not necessarily be recording artists.

Music themed offerings seem to be the latest flavor of the season for the hotels. Hard Rock Hotels & Casinos had launched the “Sound of Your Stay” option. Under the package they were offering Fender guitars for guests to play during their visit along with mixing software for DJs on the go and even amps and SOUL by Ludacris headphones. Now Fairmont is targeting the music loving guests with their new offering. The crosswalk just outside the studio, made famous by the Beatles’ album Abbey Road, will be visible to the guests 24 hours a day via the studio’s HD live cam.
