Aaron Spelling’s Manor Sells for $85 Million

Aaron Spelling was a poor immigrant who was bullied as a boy but grew up to be a successful writer and film maker. Of course, we all know him for his TV producing achievements as well. Spelling’s 57,000-square-foot Los Angeles mansion, which is a luxury home was listed with a $150 million asking price and was sold off to a rich heiress for just $85 million, or 43% off the quoted price. The property was bought by 22-year-old Petra Ecclestone. Her father is Formula One racing boss Bernie Ecclestone and a British billionaire.

The house is known as the ‘Manor’ and comes with 14 bedrooms, 27 bathrooms, a bowling alley, beauty salon, gift-wrapping rooms and parking for 100 cars. A staircase that reminds you of the novel ‘Gone with the Wind’ is also present. Rick Hilton of Hilton & Hyland did the dealing and the buyer Ms. Ecclestone’s spokeswoman revealed that she would be launching a couture bag collection of her won very soon. She is also getting married sometime later.

Perhaps she plans to have a lot of kids to fill all the rooms of the house.  The house is located in Los Angeles’ prestigious Holmby Hills area, where many ageing Hollywood stars live. If you are one of them, I mean no offense. I guess sometimes it is really fun to be born as a heiress. The Manor was being touted as the Most Expensive Home in America and it turned out to be an average deal if we are talking about luxury homes. It is funny how some people have everything they want!
