Fujifilm was once one of the premier film camera manufacturers. They have made the transition to digital cameras since then. And there are many takers. Plenty of fans of Fujifilm cameras would jump up at news that Fujifilm will be launching a special edition of the X100. Really, this is exciting stuff for camera enthusiasts. As of now there is no news regarding how many units of the Fujifilm Special Edition X100 will be released. But since this is a special edition product, do not expect too many units.
In terms of looks, Fujifilm has added color to the good old Fujifilm X100. A tan leather textured casing ensures that the special edition Fujifilm camera has a distinctive new appeal. However, I doubt that the folks at Fujifilm will be making too many big changes. I think they will be sprucing up the camera and making only a few striking modifications. The special edition X100 will be packaged along with the leather case that came along with the original.
The design is very Leica-like, but camera enthusiasts will be more interested in the specifications when the X100 returns in its new avatar. A 12.3-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor is among the big attractions in this camera. Additionally, the new X100 will feature an EXR processor 23mm F2 Fujinon lens. There is also a hybrid viewfinder that works in optical and electronic mode. A 2.8-inch LCD display and a 200 to 6400 ISO range makes this a powerful camera.
The regular X100 is priced at about $1,200. You can expect the special edition version to be considerably more expensive.
