There was an interesting listing on the eBay for the auto enthusiasts. The car which was originally a 1957 Triumph TR3 Special has been transformed into an unusual and unique automobile as it now sports a faux Ferrari body and a Chevy 350 V8 engine under its hood. The combination is interesting to say the least. There are very few things left in the technically British car that is original. The things that were part of the original vintage sports racer are the number and chassis plates, front suspension, windshield wiper motor, tail lights and fuel filler cap.
The points highlighted on the eBay listing are its body which has been described as coach built and also stresses the point that it is a combination of hand-worked aluminum and glass fiber. The other highlights of the car as per the listing include an Edelbrock manifold and carburetor, TH350 transmission and a Ford 9†limited slip differential. There’s also an integral roll bar, four-link rear suspension and wide 275/50R15 rubber. The seller on eBay believes that the wiring of this car is of exceptional quality.
The seller also stresses on the high quality of the craftsmanship that has gone into creating the car. He calls this creation an authentic piece of American Vintage Motor Sports History but has listed it for a reasonable price of $19,500. But it is difficult to say how many people will be attracted to a car that was dumped and was gathering dust in a shed. The wannabe Ferrari 250 GTO body does not make the car special and after all there are so many other interesting options available on the eBay itself.
