A Reality TV Show on Posh Realty

New York City luxury real estate will be the platform for Reality TV to take on an exciting new form. The entertainment often lacks creativity these days and can leave one in need of something fresh. Well, Scripps NetWorks Interactive’s DIY Network has answered prayers.  Renowned celebrity contractor, Stephen Fanuka will save us with his new show Million Dollar Contractor, where he will magically transform Manhattan luxury homes.

Your average Joe Soap will also have the opportunity to experience “life at the top” when the show premieres on 16 October at 10pm ET. We always speculate about the lifestyles of the rich and famous; the shopping, the fancy cars, the lavish parties. Now we’ll also get a taste of the challenges they face, as wealth and status doesn’t protect you against the pain and suffering caused by home renovation. However, don’t worry too much as the stars will be in the safe hands of a respected and experienced contractor. Stephen Fanuka grew up in Queens where he religiously followed his dad, Rod, to work. Dad, in true old-school fashion, was eager to pass the trade to his son and the artistry clearly rubbed off. Stephen has worked on the homes of Beyoncé, Tyra Banks, Lindsay Lohan and Michael J. Fox. He has featured and given expert advice in many magazines, like Elle Décor and House Beautiful, and is often seen on television. Stephen’s book ‘What’s a homeowner to do’ will be available on Amazon on 2 February 2012.

Expensive homes being transformed at hefty price tags. In addition, I wonder at what price the expertise of our Contractor to the Stars comes. Whatever the overall budget is, this show is sure to keep us mesmerized while we sit glued to the screen. This is our free pass into the world of glitz and glam.
