$79,000 Pen to be Auctioned for Charity Cause

Renowned Australian jeweler Glenn Curtis has joined hands with product developer Trevor Brown to design a solid gold pen to be sold off during the Australia week merriment scheduled for 22 January in New York. This ornate gem-encrusted pen features hand carvings representing rare genus and Australian animals’ viz. koala, kangaroo, crocodile and green turtle.

Amongst other accessories, this bejeweled pen is clad with 450 gems including diamonds and sapphires and exhibits the slang ‘Conservation in Action’ on its butt. The handcrafted creation is the result of efforts being invested for the last three years. It is been anticipated that the pen will fetch around $79,000 and the earnings generated through this auction would be bestowed to the Wildlife Warriors charity set up by the late ecologist and TV celebrity ‘Crocodile Hunter’ Steve Irwin and his wife Terri in 2002.
