Those of you who have always been perturbed looking for a supah-expensive door to suit your super-expensive decor, put all your worries aside. Choate Carbon has been commissioned to create a carbon fiber door for a rich fella’s home lobby elevator area. And this door is expected to blow everyone away with its class and price tag of $15,000.
The manufacturing process involves vacuum bagging, 300 K twill (2X2), divinycell and polypropylene honeycomb core, epoxy resin. The elegant finishing has been done using matte lacquer with U.V. additives. The 7.5’x4.9′ door weighs 99 lbs.
Matching the futuristic making of the door is the functioning ability that even features a biometric finger print scanner for the lock also done up in cabon fiber.
Even the handle is simple and modern being only an inset on the door. The mastermind Patrick Choate is very excited about bringing a new revolution into the drab and conventional world of doors. And guess what, so are we!
