In March this year, we told you about Ivanka Trump turning spa designer. The pretty Ms. Trump put her designing skills to the test during the recent refurbishing of the luxury spa at the Trump International Hotel & Tower New York. The renovations continued over a three-month period, costing Trump New York $8 million for the facelift. The new-look luxury spa has now opened to the public, a fine way to usher in Trump New York’s 15th anniversary celebrations. The treatment rooms have been expanded, and several of the existing facilities have been upgraded. You will also find new treatments on the menu, including such exotic sounding things as the Moroccan Ritual and the Harmonizing Gemstone massage.
Guests who prize privacy and exclusivity among all things will appreciate that the refurbished luxury spa has only three treatment rooms, all of which are separated from the common areas of the gym and swimming pool. Even the pool has undergone an upgrade. It is now a proud 55-foot salt-chlorinated pool and the centerpiece of the spa. Floor-to-ceiling glass windows offer direct views of the pool area. The pool now uses chlorine derived from salt, which is gentler on skin and eyes. The manicure-pedicure room also deserves mention. Spread your legs out on the comfy elevated seats, admire the hand-painted cherry blossom on the wall, and check out the new skincare range from Zents.
The new-look luxury spa at the Trump New York is very minimalist in design. We love how Trump’s pretty daughter (who is also executive vice president of development and acquisitions for the Trump Organization) has combined cherry wood, walnut wood, Italian marble and mosaic to terrific effect.
