The India-based Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces has added a new property to its growing international kitty. Asia’s largest hotel group has inked a deal with private Moroccan company JK Hotels and will be operating the Taj Palace Marrakech. Set for an autumn launch this year, the Taj Palace Marakech will house 161 guest rooms. This includes 25 Grand Suites and one Royal Suite. The rooms offer fantastic views of the Atlas Mountains and the Palmeraie districts palm gardens. The luxury hotel stands near the foot of the Atlas Mountains, giving guests easy access to nearby Moroccan villages. Moreover, the property is only a half-hour drive away from the nearest international airport.
A US-based designer with Oriental leanings, Stuart Church has designed this luxury hotel, and you will find several traditional Moroccan elements. Ottoman architectural styles mingle with the designs linked with the elite Berber Kasbahs of Morocco, along with some Oriental and Indian influences as well.
The luxury property will offer guests a range of different cuisines through several restaurants and bars. So guests can feast not only on traditional Moroccan dishes, but also on Mediterranean and Asian food.
In addition, the property offers guests plenty of scope to unwind, thanks to a 40,000-square-foot Jiva Grande Spa that houses 14 treatment rooms with a menu of Indian and African treatments. Plus, there are a couple of hammams and a state-of-the-art fitness center.
Marrakech stands in the heart of Morocco, close to a range of palaces and monuments. Rooted in Arab and African influences, Marrakech is a wonderful mingling of two different cultures.
