Bentonville, Arkansas To Get A 21c Museum Hotel In Collaboration With The Walmart Family

The Walton family, owners of the popular retail store chain, Walmart have reportedly planned to team up with the owners of the 21c Museum Hotel in, Louisville, Kentucky to construct and launch a similar 21c Museum Hotel in downtown Bentonville, Arkansas, which is also the headquarters for Walmart. Then entire project is expected to $28 million and the construction is expected to begin this year itself and the hotel is expected to be opened in the year 2012. As per the plans, the all new 21c Museum Hotel in Bentonville will provide its guests with e a spa, fitness center and a restaurant.

The entire project will have a partnered ownership that will be distributed between the Walton family, owners of the 21c Museum Hotel, Steve Wilson and Laura Lee Brown and the Bentonville Revitalization Inc., which is known to be a non profit organization, that has the sole goal of preservation of Bentonville’s historic architecture. The all new hotel is being designed by Deborah Berke & Partners LLP in collaboration with Polk Stanley Wilcox architecture firm, and the construction of the hotel is said to be focused on the preservation of the environment.


According to Bob McCaslin (Mayor, Bentonville, Arkansas),

“The best days for Bentonville and its downtown are ahead. Today’s announcement only increases the excitement that already exists around the future opening of Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. This prestigious facility will help complete the transformation of Bentonville into a world-renowned destination.”
