Tod’s threw a Gala dinner at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Shanghai on May 25 to celebrate the exclusive launch of the new Autumn/Winter 11 Signature Collection. It was a high profile event which was attended by writers Sun Gan Lu and Xiao Bao, renowned artist Qiu Hao, internationally-acclaimed opera singer Huang Ying, socialites Wendy Yip and Lin Dong Fu, model Zhou Lei and several other big names from the field of fashion, publishing, business, society, art and film.
Marco Gentile’s short film, Red Touch, Dancing a Dream was premiered for the assembled guests prior to the dinner. Since the film is focused on China, it stars the renowned Chinese ballerina Honglan Hou. The short film narrates the story of two young girls in the East-meets-West format. The story is about the girls’ dream of fulfilling their life’s ambitions. The star of the film, Hou staged an impassioned solo performance after the screening, making it a really exclusive evening for the elite guests.
