The Frankfurt Motor Show (to be held in September this year) is no less than a Mecca for luxury cars. In fact, many roadsters see their first light of the day at this very event. We hear that this time around, BMW might just showcase the new green concept it has been fastidiously working on. It is a sports car (we were not expecting anything less than that) based on the M1 Homage Concept Car that was unveiled at the Villa d’Este Concours in Italy last year.
The concept car will be a two-seater with a middle engine coupe that will flaunt several eco-friendly features that have been designed especially for the BMW’s EfficientDynamics Engineering Program. So far, the maker are being very hush-hush about their treehugger project. Even the car’s fuel usage (hyrbid, electric or deisel) is still a mystery.
BMW rep Klaus Draeger spoke to the media that as the eco-consciousness sinks into the masses, sustainability is what they look for in a new car. His company is expecting that the BMW EfficientDynamics Vision will be able to prove that sustainability does not only apply to the drivetrain alone but to design and materials as well.
