Mara Hoffman, the New York City based designer has created her first ever bridal collection. A graduate of Parsons School of Design and also Central Saint Martin’s College of Arts and Design, London, Mara had launched her first ready to wear collection in 2000. She was noticed by the industry almost immediately and became famous for her eclectic prints and bohemian aesthetic, ready-to-wear and swimwear designs. Her bridal collection also projects effectively her free spirit approach and manages to be quite different from the normal bridal collections you come across. All the pieces in her collection have been modeled outdoors, by the sea or in the desert.
Looks Have Been Named After Greek, Roman and Hindu Goddesses
Another element that makes the collection really different from other collections is that it boasts of bridal swimsuits. The bridal swimsuits could be appropriate for romantic weddings on the beach or for tropical honeymoons. The collection has been made up of seven looks and they have been named after Greek, Roman and Hindu goddesses. Mara Hoffman has evolved beautifully from her original Circle Collections and subsequent collections with extraordinary prints. She started making swim wear collections as recently as 2008 and incorporated her signature prints to make the collection playful and sexy. The swimsuits in her bridal collection are also sensuous and romantic.
The Collection is Available on Hoffman’s Site
Mara Hoffman works with a close knit team from her studio in Manhattan’s flower district. She has a personal affinity with mythology and nature. Her bridal collection and all the looks seem to have been designed with the intention of being worn by the sea, barefoot in the desert or under a canopy in the forest. For designer wear the collection is reasonably priced. The pieces in the collection have been priced between $300 and $1,700. Mara Hoffman had launched her own ecommerce site last year and the new bridal collection is available on marahoffman.com. Each piece in the collection has been beautifully stitched, hand-beaded and embroidered. If you are planning to get married amidst the nature the wedding dresses in this collection would be the most appropriate.
