Moet Hennessey Reveals The Ultimate Collection Box Of Fine Wines

On Tuesday, 7 June, Moet Hennessey launched the Ultimate Collection Box – a luxury offering that features some of the best wines in the company’s portfolio. Those who are able to shell out £500 for this collection of wines will receive bottles of Cape Mentelle Cabernet Sauvignon, Cloudy Bay’s Te Koko, Cheval des Andes, Newton’s The Puzzle, Numanthia’s Termanthia; and Terrazas de los Andes’ Afincado Malbec.

Pablo Reinoso, a designer with roots in Argentina, has designed the box. Cloudy Bay estate director Ian Morden, Cheval des Andes’ chief winemaker Nicholas Audebert and Numanthia estate director Manuel Louzada attended the 7 June launch. Louzada notably spoke about how Termenthia wines are processed. He said that these fine wines come from a 14-year-old vineyard with limited yield and extreme temperatures. He added that Termenthia is one of the few modern-day wines, where the grapes are crushed by feet rather than through a processor.

Meanwhile, Audebert spoke about how Argentina has become the home country for malbec wines. He said that malbec processing vanished from its traditional haunt of Bordeaux just as people began growing this strain in the South American nation of Argentina. Cloudy Bay’s Morden spoke about his company’s selection of the white wine Te Koko for Moet Hennessey’s Ultimate Collection Box. He described it as one that “speaks perfectly of our life in New Zealand”.

What is interesting is that new centers of wine-making are slowly making inroads into this traditional sector. This is significant because the super premium sector from the “New World” has begun to overtake the whole of the UK market.
