Presenting ‘The Alamshar’. The $200 Million Superyacht For His Highness The Aga Khan

One of the principal faces in the world of billionaires, the rich and the affluent, His Highness the Aga Khan, who is also revered as the foremost spiritual leader of the Muslim community, has now finally received a bit of good news in regards to his $200 million superyacht, The Alamshar, designed and built by Babcock Marine who owns the Devonport naval yard. As per sources, the Alamshar, named after one of Aga Khan’s favorite thoroughbred could soon be in the possession of the billionaire, who commissioned this magnificent boat about twelve years ago.

Designed specifically to break the transatlantic speed record, the Alasmshar with its Rolls-Royce gas turbine engines had previously managed to gain only 30 knots of cruising speed, instead of the expected speed of 60 knots. This hurdle had even caused His Highness to take sound legal advice from international maritime lawyers, in regards to a legal battle that could have been waged against the builders of the vessel. The exteriors of this marvelous superyacht have been designed by Bannenberg Designs and the naval architecture was composed by Don Shead. Even with the constant mishaps during the long and strenuous building process of the Alamshar, this luxury superyacht is now expected to leave its mark on the yacht industry, as it gets ready to be delivered to its anxiously awaiting owner.
