Virgin Atlantic is one of the more innovative airlines that are out there. Taking forward that tradition of innovation, Richard Branson has launched a unique on flight entertainment experience called Red Live. On the Virgin Atlantic Little Red, passengers will get to watch the live performances of upcoming music bands and comedians. Artists going to the very popular Edinburgh Fringe Festival (of which the Virgin Atlantic is a sponsor) will give their performances on the way to the festival.
Details of the performers will be uploaded via Twitter and Facebook, but the exact dates won’t be announced to ensure the surprise element. The musical performances will start from September onwards. The Edinburgh Fringe Festival will feature great stand ups like Ed Byrne and Daniel Sloss. You can get tickets to their performance. But for that you will have to keep an eye on Virgin Atlantic’s Twitter page.
While you are there, you can also taste some of the best scotch in the world, or admire the city’s alfresco art or do some shopping. If you are in the mood, you can also venture into the famous Highlands and enjoy nature’s numerous gifts. The Little Red service flies from London’s Heathrow to Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Manchester. Other services include 23kg baggage allowance, complimentary snacks and drinks and breakfast on early morning flights. The live- in flight performances will definitely be an interesting experience. Though these flights don’t take too long so the performances would have to be quick. And what happens during turbulence? But most importantly, what if you don’t like the performance? There really isn’t anywhere you can go at 30,000 feet in the sky!
This isn’t the first innovative service they have offered. Earlier this year, they started an in-flight dating service and an in-flight art gallery. I am not sure if this will be a hit. But I do appreciate the creativity behind it.
