Gabor’s Old Mansion In Bel-Air Listed for $15 Million

Zsa Zsa Gabor has an estate in Bel-Air since 1973. Even at that time it was not new as it was originally built in 1955. The estate has been put on the market. The property which was expected to go for sale since last six months has finally been listed for $15 million. Frederic Prinz von Anhalt, whose royal background has been questioned by many, is Gabor’s ninth husband and has expressed a desire to move to a modern building with more security for him and his wife who is 94 now.

Gabor has lately been in and out of the hospital for hip replacement, leg amputation and pneumonia. Frederic said that he wanted to move her into someplace safe and more comfortable, a luxury high-rise condo as the Bel-Air house was very old. He had first talked about the probable sale of the estate in January when he had announced that the couple hoped to sell the estate for $28 million. The asking price now is almost a 50% climb down from that figure.

Though old, the one acre gated property has a fantastic location with stunning views of downtown Los Angeles, Santa Catalina Island and the ocean. The French Regency-style luxury mansion built in 1955 has a total of 28 rooms. The home has a formal sitting room with an antique French fireplace, an oversized dining room with city views. The home has a total living space of 6,393 square feet of living space. Before Gabor bought the house in 1973 Elvis Presley and Howard Hughes have also lived in the house.
