Now this is the house of my dream and I am sure a lot of other people. Evelyn McMurray Van-Zeller has a house which comes with a swimming pool bang in the middle of the living room! Now how cool is that! She inherited the Manhattan mansion on West 15th Street, between Seventh and Eighth Avenue from her brother in 1995, but the swimming pool was built by previous owners in 1975. This “trophy property†is a Federal-style luxury mansion with a price-tag of $10.955 million.
The surrounding living room has “a cave-like, medieval, Moroccan look†according to Ms. Van-Zeller with its artwork, antiques, and medieval weaponry. Maintaining such a swimming pool definitely requires a lot of work but the owners say that it is worth it as it makes you feel like you are on some kind of a perpetual holiday. With a sauna and a gym added to the mix, Zeller says that there isn’t a need to even leave the house.
The swimming pool aside, this townhouse is quite lovely and is divided into a triplex with two apartments on the top floors that rent for $4,000 and $5,000, respectively. All in all there are six bedrooms, five bathrooms, five fireplaces, including one in each of the rented apartments, and a garden with a small pool for Ms. Van-Zeller’s turtles. CORE held the listing of this property in February. This would definitely be a property worth bragging about.
