They have acquired a major concession in the sector by being named the sole retailer onboard all Star Cruise Liners in its Asian fleet. The group has been growing fast in the travel retail business and this is their first concession on a luxury cruise. Luxury cruise as a segment is growing and in fact we had an instance of a luxury cruise in an aircraft.The Asian fleet of Star Cruise Liners consists of Superstar Virgo, Superstar Libra, Superstar Pisces and Superstar Aquarius. Star Cruise is the leading cruise line in the Asia Pacific region. The group, under the deal, will manage around 3,279sq ft of retail space on different luxury cruise ships. They would also be offering many duty free product categories including watches, jewelry and fashion and accessories to cosmetics & fragrances and confectionery. Ashvin Valram, Executive Director of the Valiram Group was very excited at the prospect of being the sole retailer onboard Star Cruises.
It is a great opportunity for the group as it provides them with a captive audience which can open doors for new business opportunities. They will be creating world class retail offer on all the cruise liners of the Star Cruise in the Asia Pacific region. They would be looking out for the latest brands and trends to target the well heeled holiday maker and the discerning global traveler. The rollout of multi brand concept boutiques on the cruise liners will start this month onwards.
