Vivienne Westwood Hosts a Launch Party for her new LA Store

The British fashion designer Dame Vivienne Westwood had opened her boutique officially in mid February on the prestigious Melrose Avenue showcasing her entire range including Gold Label, Red Label, Anglomania, MAN Collection as well as jewelry and accessories. Last Wednesday on March 30 she hosted the official launch party that was attended by a diverse range of celebrities. Westwood is known for her ability to create punk inspired high end collections. That could be one of the reasons why she bypassed New York and opened her first American store in West Hollywood.

The guest list at the launch party matched the colorful, eclectic designer. Eccentric celebs like Marilyn Manson and Dita Von Teese were there to celebrate the store’s opening. Actresses Anna Kendrick, Malin Akerman, and Kristin Davis were also present. Christina Hendricks, the Mad Men actress who is the ambassador for Westwood’s new “Get a Life” Palladium Jewelry Collection, wore clothes designed by Westwood and wore the jewelry that was launched officially at the party. Westwood and her team believe that the store will help them to introduce the brand to a new set of clientele.

The store, spread over 10,000 square feet occupies three floors of the building. It will give direct access to people in Los Angeles to Westwood’s latest creations and collections. The store features selections for women, men and even babies. The store also features some limited edition creations that would be available only in Los Angeles. Andreas Kronthaler, Creative Director of Vivienne Westwood was thrilled to finally have a presence in Los Angeles. The stores décor is also very classy and is said to be inspired by classic Parisian hotels, including Hotel George V and the Ritz.
