High-end Porcelain Products Bring Back the Glory of The Titanic

by Vlad

To commemorate one hundred years of the launch of the magnificent ship “The Titanic”, British porcelain specialist, Royal Crown Derby has teamed up with White Star Memories, to organize an exhibition called ‘History on a Plate’. The display of collection would be at the Derby Visitor Centre, until 2 July 2011. The wide range of china fashion dinnerware, historical pieces, stunning artifacts of Titanic are available to purchase.  Royal Crown Derby has produced the same handmade Titanic tableware that was originally produced in the same factory in 1911.

The Royal Crown Derby Porcelain Company based in Derby, England, is well known to produce tableware and ornamental items. Today the company has employed about 300 people without changing the method of manufacturing for 250 years. The Royal Crown Derby Co. has entrusted the production of the items such as pill box, eight-inch plate and, tankard, in high quality bone china, with the Royal seal of approval, to mark the forthcoming wedding in the UK and Stoke-on-Trent. The pottery manufacturers have started to make the wares bearing the couple’s initials tied together in gold and silver on the top of the coronet for the forthcoming Royal Wedding which would take place on- April 29, 2011. The wares like cutlery, pottery, and glass products are decorated with hearts, white ribbons and doves, in silver, gold and grey, against the background of pale grey stripes.

The royal wedding may boost the sick pottery industry and sales and the UK economy as well, as already 2,936 mugs are sold to commemorate the engagement of William and Kate.
