A New Name In High-End Luxury Travel, Momentum Adventure Reaches The US

Recently, Abercrombie & Kent introduced five new extreme adventures. Now, there is a new name on the extreme travel block. Momentum Adventure has only just set up an American shop and is targeting travellers who seek high-end extreme travel programmes.

Momentum Adventure is an East Sussex, England-based travel group that specialises on providing its clients with luxury destinations that rank high on adventure. Matthew Robertson, a former mountain climber founded the travel company because he saw a niche area in which to operate. He climbed on to the adventure travel bandwagon, but with a difference – Robertson wanted to “add in an element of velvet lining.” Earlier this year, the 2011 Virtuoso Luxe Report had predicted luxury adventure travel would be in demand. So, Robertson should be sitting pretty for the time being.

Each year, Momentum Adventure conducts 15 to 20 trips, with Robertson accompanying the travellers every time. The starting price for these package trips are about $7,000 per head, though prices can even touch figures like $500,000 for customised packages. Robertson allows a maximum of six people per trip.

There is hardly a limit on where you can go. Momentum Adventure has organised tours across the world, from the California coast to the Arctic Circle. Robertson’s fantastic networking skills work out great for his clients. Recently, he organised a stay at a Scotland castle that is not open to the public. Momentum Adventure has plenty to offer, from dogsledding and living in ice caves to rain forest treks and helicopter rides to prize fishing spots. There are plenty of thrills for an adventurer to chase after.
