Royal Collection Commemorative China for Prince William’s Wedding

The celebration of the upcoming wedding of HRH Prince William of Wales and Miss Catherine Middleton has begun. The Royal Collection china created in honor of their wedding which is to be held on April 29, 2011 has been launched for sale. The Royal couple has approved the handmade English fine bone china collection which has been designed specifically to highlight the occasion and made with the highest level of craftsmanship and skill.

The Royal Collection has been made in Stoke-on-Trent through traditional methods that have remained unchanged for the last 250 years or more. Gold and platinum are used to create a layer on each piece before a final layer of gilding in 22ct gold is applied by hand. Gold and silver decorations are made on every piece. The letters ‘C’ and ‘W’ are entwined, the coronet of Prince William is depicted on top and the date of the wedding is mentioned boldly.

Each piece comes in a presentation box and wrapped in white tissue-paper printed with designs inspired by the wall hangings in Clarence House. The collection includes a tankard (£35), eight-inch plate (£40) and pill box (£25). The collection is already available online and will also be sold through the Royal Collection shops at Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle and the Palace of Holyroodhouse.
