Oprah Winfrey Wants to Add a Mansion in New Jersey Worth $68 Million to Her Real Estate Collection

Oprah Winfrey, perhaps the richest talk show host was seen house hunting in Alpine New Jersey. According to sources she has zeroed in on a mansion which is said to be worth $68 million. Winfrey already owns a stunning getaway on a Hawaiian hilltop, a lavish spread in Montecito, California and high-end apartments in New York City and Chicago. She wants to complete her collection of real estate with an acquisition in New Jersey.

The mansion with 42 rooms is the most expensive home in the entire Bergen County. In 2009, Forbes Magazine had declared Alpine as the most expensive zip code in New Jersey. It is an ultra rich village that boasts of celebrity residents like CC Sabathia, Jonas Brothers and Eddie Murphy. The mansion is built on the Frick land on a gated street.

The 30,300 square feet mansion features 12 bedrooms, 15 full bathrooms, an indoor basketball court, and tennis court, pool house, Movie Theater and a ballroom. Oprah is reported to have come in a three car convoy to check the English manor-style mansion. The sources added that the staff and workers in the mansion were asked to leave while Oprah went on a detailed tour of the property.
