Porsche AG is set to roll out its most expensive model. This model is the 918 Spyder and it will be topping the previous most expensive model, Carrera Gt. The pricing is supposed to be around 500,000 Euros approximately $630,000. The information is supposed to be confidential, but our info is based on two people who have direct access to the plan, but did not wish to be named to the confidentiality of the programme.
The 918 Spyder was showcased at the Auto Show in Geneva this March and was one of the three hybrid models produced by the luxury car company. A the economic situation is picking up, the demand for luxury cars is also getting a boost. The Carrera GT had just 1,500 models manufactured between 2003 and 2006 due to its high price of 453,000 Euros. So the company is obviously contemplating how much of this new pricy model to produce.
Stefan Bratzel, director of the Center of Automotive at the University of Applied Sciences in Bergisch- Gladbach, Germany said, “The Spyder will become Porsche’s new supercar showpiece project. It unites Porsche’s high-performance engineering with intelligent drive technology.†Only if this model gets 100 sales pledges will the company think about manufacturing this model.
