London’s most expensive whiskey up for sale

Those vintage and obnoxiously expensive whiskey collectors listen up. A rare 50 year old Balvenie bottle of whiskey is going for sale at the Scottish bar called Albannach located at Trafalgar Square, central London. A double measure of this whiskey costs £760 ($1,135). This exorbitant price makes it London’s most expensive whiskey.

The Balvenie whiskey that we are talking about comes from a single cask that filled up 83 very rare and valuable bottles. These bottles list very high on any whiskey collector’s wish list. For example the bottles from Cask 191 have fetched prices of £9,000 ($13,450) each! This single malt whiskey has a very unique flavour. Having a rich dark colour, it’s complex flavour have hints of toffee, marzipan, sweet oak, raisins and nuts.

Cat Spencer, the expert at the Albannach bar said, “It’s for someone who really, really cares about their whisky. There’s simply nothing else in the world like it. A lot of whiskies are moved from cask to cask when they are distilled to add flavours, but this has been in a single sherry cask for 50 years.” That truly is very unique and I am sure that those whiskey aficionados out there would agree.
