Victoria’s Secret Comes to UK with a Boutique on Bond Street

Limited Brands, the owner of the American lingerie giant Victoria’s Secret has announced its plans to open their first store in the UK, tentatively scheduled for 2012. They had been scouting for an appropriate location for their prestigious store for quite some time. They have finally zeroed in on what they are calling “the prestigious corner of New Bond Street and Book Street.”

The company had been looking for various options on nearby Regent Street before finalising the 16,500 sq. Feet New Bond Street location. The company spokesperson, while talking to the Vogue UK said that  this location was better sized and suited their plans for the boudoiresque boutique. This would be the first major US import for the area since Abercrombie & Fitch opened a store a few streets away in 2007 which has since become incredibly popular with the city’s younger set.

People at large have welcomed the decision of the company to to come to UK as the current Victoria’s Secret Angel is British beauty Rosie Huntington Whiteley, who is said to be a cousin of the Queen of England. Huntington Whiteley has been in the news recently as she has been selected to replace Megan Fox in the next Transformers movie.
