It’s a must have for all Perrier-Jouët loyals out there! This time around it is not another rich, tasteful dose of French champagne but a book that pays homage to the same. Title The Art of Vintage: An Aesthetic Odyssey Through 20 Vintage Perrier-Jouët Champagnes this one has been written by Serena Sutcliffe, Jean-Pierre Devroye and Federico Simonti. As for the brilliant photography, it has been done justice by Makiko Takehara.
This much sought after book is expected to have explored the legendary vintages that have been characteristic of Perrier-Jouët champagne. It talks about the oldest ones dating to 1823 to the first vintage of the new millennium in 2002. Apart from that, it has also managed to bring in the art, history and popular culture to give the reader a more wholesome perspective.
So each vintage gets talked about with the main artistic trends of the period as well as with a summary of fashions and tonnes of history notes thrown in. The portrayal is lavish to the L with exclusive artistic photographs. A good coffee table edition, we think. Go for it!
