Two gorgeous Villas in Greece inspired by the Greek story of Orpheus and Eurydice

Just as background to this article about these gorgeous rental villas in Greece, I will have to tell you the Greek tragedy of Orpheus and Eurydice. This sad story has been narrated by Virgil, who tells us that Orpheus’ wife, Eurydice, died from a snake’s bite to her heel and then went into the underworld. The loving husband Orpheus used his talents as a musician and persuaded the gods to allow him to look for her.

The god Hades said that she could come back to life if and only if Orpheus agreed to lead her to the mortal world without turning to look back. But when he came back from his meeting with Hades, Orpheus forgot himself and looked back to see Eurydice’s face, losing her forever to death.

Ok now back to the main story. So a British couple like many others were deeply touched by this story and decided to make two villas located on the island of Mykonos inspired by this ethereal love story. And I must say that they are gorgeous. The entire villa is white in colour and the lighting and ventilation is brilliant.

Villa Eurydice and Villa Orpheus can accommodate 10 and 8 people respectively. Staying here for a week would cost you around €1,500 to €16,000, depending on the villa and the season.
