World’s Most Expensive Boots Valued at £2 Million Feature 40,000 Diamonds

What do you imagine could be the price of the most expensive boots? Even in your wildest imagination you wouldn’t be able to reach the figure of the new record. MAS Museum in Antwerp has put on display the world’s most expensive boots valued at about £2 million. The outlandish valuation is caused by the 40,000 diamonds studded on the boots. This is the most expensive pair of boots ever made as it is valued at 2.4 million Euros which is close to £2 million. The boot has been designed by Belgian fashion label A.F. Vandevorst. Apart from the diamonds there is nothing unusual about the boots, they come up to about mid calf with a concealed wedge.

It Took 30,000 Hours to Sort and Set the Diamonds

Apart from the diamonds about 4,783 grams of gold has been used to make the expensive boots. A total of 39,083 champagne, gray and pink diamonds have been used to extensively embellish the paisley swirls. Diarough, a leading Antwerp diamond company has collaborated in designing the boots and have provided a total of 1,550 carats of diamonds. It was an elaborate process of selecting the right diamonds and setting them to a design. The entire process of making and finishing the boots took over 30,000 hours. The cross shaped logo of A.F. Vandevorst has been created with extremely rare reddish-pink diamonds. The boots were designed to highlight the diamond trade of Belgium as part of the Belgian Spirit program in the annual Business of Design Week in Hong Kong.

The Queen of Belgium Was in Attendance for the Unveiling

It was a high profile event with the Queen of Belgium, the Minister-President of the Government of Flanders Kris Peeters and the Belgian Minister of Foreign Affairs Didier Reynders in attendance to unveil the diamond boots. The designers An Vandevorst and Filip Arickx are a Belgian husband and wife team who have been active since 1998. They had launched their first shoe collection way back in 2003. The boots they design normally range between £190 and £1,000. Their designs are edgy but elegant at the same time. They use contrasts in fabrics, textures and colors effectively to create striking designs.
